Many residents of Bastrop County still don’t know developers are planning to build an airport and industrial park in our back yard.
They also don’t know their County Commissioners have approved a tax incentive that will refund YOUR tax dollars back to these developers.
They may also be unaware that this development is intended to go in on a two lane, no shoulder farm to market road and that there are NO PLANS to upgrade the road to accomodate increased traffic from cars and trucks.
And that’s not all. This development will be located right on the banks of the Colorado River – upstream from the Cities of Bastrop, Smithville, and La Grange. That’s right folks, airplane and industrial run off flowing into YOUR river.
Did you know OUR RIVER is a major migratory route for thousands of birds, including birds highly sought out by birders like the Painted Bunting and Bald Eagles. Did you know there are bald eagles nesting along the river in the same location of this planned development?
HELP US get the word out to friends and neighbors living in Bastrop County.

Maybe we can use the “endangered species” argument that Austin used some time ago.
How do I become proactive and help distribute information to people in Bastrop regarding the planned airport in our area? I am very upset about our commissioner and other officials making deals without any input from the community. Just who do they work for and represent.
